H1N1 or Seasonal Flu?

How is a mother to know? When do we need to worry? My poor little Olivia was throwing up yesterday, lucky for me I missed that part of it as I was at work. I kept asking my hubby if she had a fever and he said no...well I get home and the poor thing is like a rag doll on the couch flushed and hot to touch...temperature 104.3, hubby swears she wasn't that hot during the daytime but she also did sleep most of the day. Managed to get her to take tylenol...mom it's tastes yucky! Well, that seemed to bring her fever down to about 100, she of course didn't sleep too well. She woke me up at 04:45 telling me her tummy hurt and she didn't feel good...temp again 103.7, there was no way she was going to take that tylenol again so I managed to talk her into taking Motrin chewables which weren't as bad. Kept her home from school, her temperature has been good most of the day although she's had diarrhea several times today. After picking up Kieron from school her temp was 99.1, now at dinner time it is climbing up and is 101.2. I'll hold off on the Ibuprofen I think till after dinner so that hopefully she'll be able to sleep through the night.

I'm not sure at what point I should call our doctor. Everyone keeps telling me I need to get her swabbed for H1N1 but I know they aren't swabbing everyone. I guess I'll see how she is tonight and go from there. I just pray this is over quickly and that no one else gets sick. Good thing Brenna is in Maui right now!

Haunted Houses!

Well, yesterday my father in law took the kids (husband included)to Kilby's Haunted House. Who ever thought it was a good idea to take 6 and 7 year old kids to something like this must be crazy. There weren't even any warning signs up at the house that it may be scary for young children. Apparently there were zombies jumping out at them and people with limbs and heads chopped off. Kieron seemed to be tough but poor Olivia was up several times last night with nightmares about zombies in her room coming to get her. I had to reassure her that it was only make believe and they weren't real. I hope she doesn't have nightmares all week.

"JINGLE" Book

I made this mini album from a kit from Top Line Creations. I used to be a consultant for them before they changed their company. I have lots of these kits left as I bought a bunch of them, If anyone is interested in purchasing one, I'm selling them for $15. I'm not quite done this album, I have one more page to complete and dress up the front a little.

Memories!

I've been trying to re-organize my scrapbook space so I can start scrapbooking again! I have so many pictures and memories that I don't want to get lost or forgotten. I like digital pictures but I've gotten way behind and have so many that I don't even have printed up. I would hate for them to get lost or destroyed.

More Recent Scrap Book Pages!

I changed my style of Scrap-booking after I discovered 12" x 12" pages could fit a lot more stuff and not look as cluttered. I really like the way the pages look in this different size. Of course it makes it harder to scan, but I managed to get some scanned and stitched together. Most of my pages I do a 2 page spread but for some reason they won't display beside each other on here so they are on top of each other.

Scrapbook Challenge!

I love to hang out at Classics on Alexander in Chilliwack (even though I haven't been there in awhile) I've gone to several of their Friday night CROPS and had a blast, uninterrupted time with friends scrap booking is awesome! Classics on Alexander has a monthly challenge (or at least they did last time I was there) here's how it works...for $5 you get a bag of supplies, you can't see what it is before you buy it, you are instructed to make a scrapbook page out of the given supplies, you are only allowed to add pictures, ink and adhesive, nothing else. The finished pages are then displayed on the wall at the store for the following month for staff and customers to vote. There are 2 picks...a staff pick and a customer pick, you are judged bases on how well you use everything provided. I actually won the customer pick one month with the page "Pretty in Pink"

Some of my Early Work!

I had a request to see some of my scrap book pages so I decided to post some that I had scanned on disc already. These are some of my early styles of scrap booking I used to do 8 1/2" x 11" pages. A few of them were just pictures of the page rather than a scan so there is a little glare and not completely straight but I hope you enjoy them.

Back to School!

Today the kids went back to school! This begins a new era for me, Kieron our youngest started Grade One, this means all of the kids are in school all day long! What will I do with my time...well, I've already got a "To Do" List made up and have already started to scratch the surface. I also plan to pick up a few extra shifts at work as I'm swapping babysitting with a friend, hopefully this will work out for both of us.

The kids were very excited to go back to school I could hardly get them to stand still long enough to take a picture of them. Brenna is 11 and starting Grade 6, Olivia is 6 and starting Grade 2 and Kieron is 5 and starting Grade 1.

I guess I forgot about this...

OK, so fire me!

I totally forgot about this BLOG!

Life has been very busy with 3 kids, driving 20 min each way 3 times a day to take the kids to school, working weekends and trying to keep my house in some sort of order. Not to mention gymnastics, piano lessons and whatever else comes up.

My goals for 2009 is to get into better health, first off by losing some weight that has accumulated over the years (having 3 children has not been kind to the body...especially when the last 2 weren't even a year apart). Hopefully I can keep a track of my progress on here!
